Description Robert Half has a great opportunity available for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk with an organization that offers an appealing company culture among highly skilled professionals. In this position, you will be required to manage all general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. You will work closely and report to the Accounting Manager. Matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Based out of the New York, New York area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / temporary to hire opening.
Key responsibilities
Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
Manage department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it on a daily basis
Handle administrative tasks for the AP/Finance Department
Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling
Perform special projects as assigned
Fullfill full-cycle A/P
Provide support to internal business partners
Facilitate internal and external audits as needed
Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed Requirements - Practical knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
High-Volume Invoicing experience
Proven knowledge of Process Vendor Invoices
External Vendor experience
Multiple Vendors experience highly desired
Proficiency in Enter Vendor Invoices
General familiarity with Hospitality management
Well-founded grasp of Reconcile Vendor Statements
Command of Purchase Orders
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
