Title: Controller / Assistant Controller (depending on experience)

Location: San Francisco

Salary: 165k-250k + bonus

About the Company: This asset management firm is internationally recognized and was established several decades ago. The company oversees assets of approximately $30+ billion across the globe. Known for its expertise in both public and private debt, equity securities, and arbitrage, it also has a strong focus on direct investments in private entities.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in managing the day-to-day financial operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Financial Statement preparation, forecasting, and budgeting.

Research new technical accounting standards and recommend appropriate treatments for Financial Statements.

Assist the CFO in budget preparation, financial reporting, treasury management and tax-efficient funding of the global management companies.

Collaborate with the Digital Transformation Team for implementations of new software solutions.

Evaluate workflows and define process improvements to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Qualifications:

5-10+ years of Audit, Accounting, and Tax experience at a Big Four accounting firm.

Professional certification (CPA or equivalent) preferred.

Strong understanding of GAAP, full-cycle operational accounting, and industry practices.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated organizational skills, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a team environment.
