You could take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department at a successful Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance company, through Robert Half's new Controller opportunity. The Controller position is a permanent opportunity in the San Antonio, Texas region. This role's duties will require planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. This role's duties will require effectively managing self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, leading while also being a team player, generating innovative ideas, and challenging the status quo.   What you get to do every day

  Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

  Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis

  Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

  Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

  Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

  Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

  Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

  Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies Requirements

  Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

  Ability to meet deadlines

  BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills

  Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

  Solid understanding of auditing

  Intercompany Transaction experience preferred

  Strong familiarity with technical accounting

  Knowledge of Analyze Financial Statements

  CPA/MBA preferred
