The ideal candidate for this position can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. The ideal candidate for this position can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services.   What you get to do every day

  Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

  Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

  Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

  Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

  Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

  Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

  Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations

  Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation Requirements - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  Detailed and have the ability work independently

  Prior work done in public accounting is desired

  Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

  Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well

  BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  CPA/MBA preferred

  Knowledge of budgeting

  Solid understanding of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A)

  Proficiency in cash forecasting

  Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
