Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America's premier processors, buyers, sellers, and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT, a wholly owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs, has an immediate opportunity for a Control Engineer Specialist at the Detroit, MI, location. TheControl Engineerwill support and develop new applications and programs. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations.

　　Summary of Responsibilities:Support existing custom applications and the development of new applications. This will include computer programming and some system administration skills.Use computers and PLCs to control process equipment used in the production and processing of steel.Analyze problems to find the root cause. Involves some user contact to diagnose the problem.Be willing to respond to troubleshooting calls on a 24/7 basis.Perform other duties as needed.

　　Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma; Preferred program of study: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Techniques, Industrial Automation, and Industrial ControlsThree years of relevant work experience related to industrial automation and designKnowledge of control theory (PID control).Knowledge of PLC programming, specifically PLC, HMI and VFD'sSystem administration experience with WindowsExperience with the Rockwell software: Studio 5000, Factorytalk ME, RS Linx, View Studio
