We are hiring for an offshift contract engineer for the Automotive Industry
The selected candidate will be responsible for the creation and documentation of plans to engineering team and initiation of new processes and tools for an automotive OEM. This includes installation, debug, runoff, and PPAP of equipment to manufacture Lithium-Ion Batteries. Work is performed in a team environment, consisting of daily interactions with product engineering, plant engineering, process, maintenance, operations, and a multitude of others, to successfully launch this new product.
You are responsible for the creation and documentation of plans to engineering team and initiation of new processes and tools.
• Equipment Runoff @ OEM (local travel).
• Collaboration with the Operations Launch Team on Program Deliverables:
• PFMEAs Review / Simulation Review / Control Plans / Launch Deliverables / Error Proofing / NOK Plans
• Plant Equipment Install / Debug / Launch / Continuous Improvement.
• Project management for Project Execution.
• Develop and lead the PPAP review meetings in area of responsibility utilizing the PPAP checklist, capturing exceptions.
• Lead the lessons learned gathering activity and feedback the information to the central process team for BOE/BOP updates.
• Closure of all ME open issues for Launch Deliverables.
• Ownership of the solution from problem discovery through solution validation

In addition to PPAPs and FMEAs, the candidate should also have:
Experience with assembly processes, automated processes, and/or complex processes; the following equipment would be good to screen for to get a since of the type of equipment they've been around: fastening equipment, servo presses, sealing dispensers, cameras, and error proofing devices
Hands on experience in troubleshooting equipment
Understanding of pneumatic, mechanical and control drawings
Understanding of part locating/mechanics/machine design
