Job Summary:
This role supports Helmer Scientific, part of Trane Technologies Life Sciences Portfolio. Helmer Scientific designs, integrates, manufactures, markets, and distributes specialized medical and laboratory equipment to clinical and life science customers in over 125 countries, as well as provide after-market service and support.
Applies manufacturing and industrial engineering support for lower volume/high model mix manufacturing operations to maintain safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics. Complete and maintain work balance and staffing for dedicated assembly lines to meet daily customer demands. Identify and lead manufacturing and improvement projects that require project and change management oversite. Responsible for leading projects to completion while working through others. Lead the transfer of new product designs and process changes to manufacturing in addition to supporting lean activities and projects across the entire business.
Responsibilities:

Comply with workplace safety procedures.
Provide engineering support to assigned production/assembly cells
Lead and develop corrective actions through practical problem solving for issues stemming from quality and/or engineering issues. Develop and coach others through problem solving exercises to determine and address root cause
Lead manufacturing workstream for new product development and launch including all necessary requirements, standard work creation, PFEP implementation, D/PFMEA creation/maintenance, pilot prep and execution, operational training, and product transfer to production activities
Manage production escalation process through collaboration with production quality and design engineering teams.
Manage manufacturing and operations projects including capital equipment purchase/implementation, process improvement projects, and other cross-functional projects as assigned
Manage the planning and execution for all qualification and validation protocols for proper process and equipment implementation.
Design, build, and document fixtures, gauges and/or inspection tools.
Lead CAPA’s within impacted production work cell(s) as assigned
Identify & implement safety improvements through EH&S program
Lead the implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives
Develop and maintain improvement roadmap to improve production quality and efficiency for assigned production areas
Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives.
Conduct time studies & develop line balances for various line rates.
Develop takt & cycle times for various line rates including standard work, staffing, SWIP, and balance charts
Support the development of new Lean strategies, program elements and framework to keep pace with HOS maturity progression, business growth and changes.
Facilitate cross-functional Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping Events.
Ongoing engineering support
Provides manufacturing engineering review/approval of change orders.
Creates and maintains labor and part point of use within Bill of Materials in ERP system

Qualifications:
Relative Work Experience:
5 or more years related work experience in manufacturing environment (knowledge of assembly, sheet metal fabrication processes, & design preferred).Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing (preferred), Industrial and/ or Mechanical Engineering required.Certifications / Licenses:
Project management, Lean manufacturing, and six sigma training preferred. Equipment/Process validation and PFMEA certification a plus.Computer Systems / Software:
Microsoft Office, & AutoCAD 2D, & Inventor 3D preferred.Specialized Training:
Knowledge of FDA and GMP procedures preferredKey Competencies:
Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment and site.

Base Compensation Range is $75,000 - $106,550
