The Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Coach provides the coaching and training required to guide Operations Excellence through the establishment and implementation of Lean principles at manufacturing sites.
This role is responsible for assessing and developing capabilities required to create sustainable improvement and set the desired pace of operations excellence execution. The role will also work with the Manufacturing Operations functions to ensure consistency and standardization of best practices and tools.
The work ranges from leading and facilitating key improvement work with plant leadership to coaching leaders within the departments in the sites.
In this role, you will:
People and Leadership
Accountable for successful implementation of best practices and standard work, leading to desired performance outcomes across multiple manufacturing sites
Coach manufacturing department leadership on Operations Excellence implementation including User Driven Maintenance, Focused Improvement, Setup Time Reduction, Teamwork, Visual Management, 5S, and others
Coach manufacturing department leadership on integration of operations excellence tools including following the best practice governance process
Coach manufacturing department leadership on the sequencing of best practices using the TRACC Roadmap
Identify and diagnose any site-level barriers (capabilities, behaviors, resources) to successful implementation of best practices and expected performance, and partner with site leadership to develop corrective plans; influencing, coaching, teaching, and routines
Conduct process health checks, GEMBA, and learn from previous ways of working to enable pace of implementation and new change management routines
Facilitate training and improvement activities with leadership and operational resources
Connect business, division, and local imperatives to the Operations Excellence work at the manufacturing sites
Provide strong communication to the Operations Excellence team as well as analyze and review results
Stay connected and updated on current local and market trends in order to support better positioning through Operations Excellence
Participate in leadership pilot (learning/modeling) activities at key sites
Technical and Business
Provide Reliability Engineering and Constraint management coaching and implementation
Provide training and development at training events.
Provide standardized training and documentation as the owner of key processes.
Provide coordination and summary of Operations Excellence metrics/plans
Maintain key process training and other documentation for database/web site use.
Develop Operations Excellence expertise in others and apply principles to company processes
Deliver specific instruction on multiple Operations Excellence processes
Use Operations Excellence tools/processes to aid plants in making small to large scale improvement that is both general and part of key business strategy
Leadership scope includes multiple processes at sites across the field
Able to take the current best practices and standards to the next level
Able to fully comprehend the assessments and plans for a plant team and apply knowledge to coach/teach/facilitate/guide
What we look for:
College 4-year degree – Supply Chain or Engineering preferred, but, equivalent experience is also considered
5+ years in Manufacturing with experience as an Operations Leader or equivalent
Experience in leading organizational change in a manufacturing environment
Leadership and execution of improvement activities at varying organizational levels
Experience in development and delivery of technical training
Experience Leading an organization in a TPM or Lean Environment
Experience in coaching TPM or Lean methodologies
Experience implementing TRACC continuous improvement methodology
Strong and demonstrated communication and training skills
Demonstrated ability to influence leaders to execute operations excellence best practices
Interpersonal skills to effectively influence people to do new work
Demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple projects/activities
Ability to maintain high contribution while traveling up to 75%

The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $104,100 - $199,100
–Zone B: $95,500 - $183,300
–Zone C: $86,800 - $166,600
