Job Summary:Ideal candidates will have experience and expertise in wildlife studydesign, business development, managing projects, and environmentalconsulting. Candidates will be responsible for managing projects related towildlife surveys for various industries, including renewable energy,transmission lines, pipelines, transportation, oil and gas, Departmentof Defense, and other industries or service areas where appropriate. Thecandidate will have a primary focus on the Rocky Mountain Region (Wyomingand Colorado, in particular).
The salary range for the position $65,000 - $85,000, plus annualbonus. Salary may vary based on education, knowledge and experience.
Responsibilities include:WEST's Consulting Biologists work individually, as well as with a team ofnatural resource specialists, scientists and biometricians.Administration of projects:Prepare reports, proposals, and provide quality assurance of data.Environmental consulting:Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and federal and stateagencies.Providing technical expertise and team-oriented approaches to projectsOversee projects including leading and organizing:Pre-construction, post-construction mortality monitoring; renewable energyprojects; linear projects and other variable development projects;wildlife field design and setup field studies.Supervision:Manage project teams, deliverables and budgets for multiple projects.Train and manage field coordinators and technicians.Supervise and direct field studies and staff.Promote health and safety.Market WEST's capabilities:Foster current business relationships and promote new business developmentefforts.This position will require occasional overnight travel.

Job Requirements
Requirements:The successful candidate must be a self-starter who possesses:Minimum of a bachelor's degree in biological studies, natural resources,wildlife management, wildlife biology or equivalent;Previous professional experience in environmental consulting with thefollowing knowledge, skills, and abilities:Avian and/or bat ecology are the target areas of technical expertisesought, but experience in wetland delineation, plant identification,threatened and endangered species (and other special status species) orother areas of ecology will also be considered; andExperience with interpretation of statistical analysis.Previous project management experience (5+ years for ConsultingBiologist), including budgeting and proposal writing experience,consulting work, and professional scientific experience.Track record of maintaining positive relationships with coworkers, clientsor stakeholders.Strong, competent writing and oral communication skills with the ability topay close attention to detail and accurately report the scientific methods andresults of field studies.Wi dlife biology technical knowledge and knowledge of regional wildlife.
