  Project Description: The Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works has awarded our team the contract to provide Construction Engineering and Inspection services for the new South-Dade Bus Maintenance Facility located on a 20-acre site located at SW 127 Ave and Biscayne Drive. The Project will include a two-story maintenance and operations facility with approximately 54k s.f. for maintenance parts storage and approximately 27k s.f. for dispatch, driver, and training areas. Bus parking deck will house approximately 100 articulated Battery Electric Buses.

  Logging, and reviewing the construction contractor’s submittals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with construction contract documents.

  Drafting documents for possible construction contract modifications.

  Reviewing construction contractor proposals and claims for any additional cost and/or time.

  Ensuring all aspects of construction work scopes are being effectively managed and performed by the construction contractors.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  High School diploma or Vocational Technical degree or equivalent.

  6 years of related experience.

  Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Organized documenting and record-keeping skills.

  Strong organizational and communication (oral and written) skills, professional and proactive approach to mitigation of contract administration challenges and inherent business risks.

  Demonstrate ability to review and comprehend complex contract documents related to construction and project management.

  Previous experience on integrated project(s) with a client.

  Skills and Abilities:

  Skills, abilities and proficiency in technical designs, Contruction specifications and associated relevant documents.

  Good ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.

  Intermediate knowledge of arithmetic.

  Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

  Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new computer, smartphone or related applications and programs.

  Advanced knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in construction.

  Ability to read, understand, interpret and explain construction plans and drawings, contract provisions, and specifications.

  Advanced knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in construction.

  Background Check and Drug Testing Information:

  CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as “CDM Smith”) reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. In addition, CDM Smith may conduct drug testing for designated positions. Background checks are conducted after an offer of employment has been made in the United States. The timing of when background checks will be conducted on candidates for positions outside the United States will vary based on country statutory law but in no case, will the background check precede an interview. Criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate. In addition, during employment individuals may be required by CDM Smith or a CDM Smith client to successfully complete additional background checks, including motor vehicle record as well as drug testing.

  Additional Compensation:

  All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.

  Work Location Options:

  Successful candidate will be required to work in office and field locations as needed.

  Driver's License Requirements:

  An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
