  Job Description

  AECOM is seeking a Construction Intern to be based in Murray, Utah.

  This position is expected to begin in May 2024.

  The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.

  Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff.

  Reading and interpreting plans and specifications.

  Collects samples, performs inspections and tests materials in the field on active construction projects.

  Measure and report quantities placed by the contractor in the field.

  Meets required schedules while producing quality work.

  Qualifications

  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering, with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.

  Candidates must have completed at least 1 year of study in their program.

  Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites.

  As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

  Frequent lifting, carrying, and loading of construction field equipment, such as nuclear density gauges, 5 gallon buckets (filled with soil samples), and wheelbarrows with concrete, of up to 50 pounds unassisted.

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS).

  Additional Information

  Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

  Candidate will be provided training for concrete testing, materials sampling, and density testing and will be expected to gain certification for these testing processes.

  Offered rate of compensation (Utah locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $20.19- $25.69/hr .
