Tuesday – Saturday – 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM (Swing) This Statement of Work (SOW) is to provide support to the IRS as outlined in this SOW. This Statement of Work directs contract-level Support for IRS to administer and maintain EMC DCAs and Data Domains. Provide Greenplum expertise in administering Databases on EMC DCAs and Data Domains. Provide knowledge transfer of Greenplum Database, Operation and Maintenance of EMC Appliances to EOPS. Support for establishing Standard Operating Procedures. Support IRS Future State and Cloud Strategy requirement by designing and testing Greenplum (Massively Parallel Processing) MPP on Commodity Servers and in Cloud. Performance Engineering: IRS has procured a Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) Greenplum Database Management System (DBMS) and Data Computing Appliance (DCA) from Dell EMC which was added to the set of software/hardware as an IRS enterprise standard. This database provides high speed Data Analysis and Query capabilities for enterprise databases which are expected to range between 10 and 100 Terabytes (TB) within the next two years. The DCA is an appliance solution (prepackaged or pre-configured balanced set of hardware servers, memory, storage and I/O channels, software operating system, DBMS and management software, service and support). IRS requires contractor to support Greenplum, DCA, Data Domain and Future State IRS Big Data Analytics (BDA) requirements for Enterprise Operations. The Analytics Database Support team will provide support for Greenplum, DCAs and Data Domains in Production and Non-Production environments in Martinsburg and Memphis. The Big Data Analytics (BDA) project within Enterprise Operations has the following goals: 1) The Contractor shall provide expertise and services in migrating data into Greenplum databases residing on Dell EMC DCAs and Data Domains 2) The Contractor shall provide expertise and services in utilizing and optimizing the core capabilities of the Greenplum database and Data Domain in IRS’s environment 3) The Contractor shall provide general expertise on the Greenplum database, Dell EMC DCA and Data Domain. 4) The Contractor shall bring expertise and knowledge to support IRS Future State Big Data Analytics on Commodity Servers and Cloud (as part of Cloud Strategy) by defining Infrastructure Requirements that works with in IRS Environment. Greenplum Database Support– In support of this requirement the Contractor shall: Provide support maintaining crontab jobs, health check and other daily maintenance work for the DCA and Data Integration Accelerator (DIA) in the IRS’s production and non-production systems. Provide SME support and services in utilizing and optimizing the capabilities of the Greenplum database in the IRS’s environment. Provide expertise, services and documentation in Greenplum database daily operations and maintenance of performance monitoring, tuning, and backup & recovery and troubleshooting, analyze and vacuum tables, schemas and databases. Provide support to creating/maintaining the Greenplum Computer Operator Handbooks (COHs) documentation, Greenplum database service catalogs and other technical documentation in the continued operations of the Greenplum database, DCA and DIA. Provide support to the Government trouble-shooting issues and resolving tickets with DCAs, Greenplum databases and DIAs. Provide White Paper documentation and expertise regarding Greenplum database administration, covering subjects such as general maintenance, monitoring, backup & recovery mechanisms, user administration, performance tuning, and best practices. Provide support in performance monitoring, tuning, optimizing and troubleshooting for workload management, Resource Queue management and other performance issues of the DCA, Greenplum database and DIA in IRS to meet the project business requirements. Provide support and subject matter expertise in Structured Query Language (SQL) tuning and query optimization for the Greenplum database. Provide support in establishing Standard Operating Procedures and developing documents for DCA and DIA. Provide support to establish Greenplum operations model for roles since Greenplum DBA needs to take care of operating system administration and Greenplum is new to EOPS. Provide support in other daily and periodic maintenance activities such as log management, alert management and other routine database and appliance work. Provide support in RRP system and Greenplum related infrastructure design. Linux server administration and shell script development, review of scripts, testing and seamless support in all DCA/DD PROD and Non Prod environments. Provide support and implement process/procedures towards Data Security, Data governance, Data archival , DCA health reporting and UPC process. Support and constantly review User management and access control procedures (Support for OL5081 process). Support Server build outs and OS/DCA upgrades. Liaison with EMC and Pivotal in proactively highlighting possible server/Greenplum issues, actively reviewing "know bug lists", review reports from EMC & Pivotal and attend meetings. Support Configuration Management and software release management (DRIVE, Clear case). Liaison with Network, SAS and Linux support teams to implement, test and support network related artifacts.
