Job Summary:
The Component Engineer is responsible for ensuring the availability of suitable components required to manufacture Energy and Transportation Solutions hardware products. This role will work with design and manufacturing engineers to analyze form-fit-function of components and to select qualifying/compatible components from various sources per design specifications and also supervise implementation and maintenance of the component, supervising obsolescence and identifying alternative components based on the requirements and critical parameters.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Identifies and provides initial qualification for second and third sources for components that are currently single sourced.
Provides detailed analysis of differences between first / second / third source data sheets
Develops qualification test plan for approval of any alternate sources
Conducts component level, electrical, functional and product test
Maintains test records of all qualification results (Pass/Fail)

For This Role, You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree level of education in engineering
Familiarity with lab equipment such as voltmeters and oscilloscopes
Experience with equipment used to replace electronic component (soldering equipment).
Interpersonal skills with ability to relay technical information in English (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
Experience optimally collaborating (either by telephone, e-mail or directly) with people in multiple countries and time zones, exchanging information
Flexibility to respond to urgent requests and/or changing priorities
Must be highly motivated
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Background in supply chain within a manufacturing environment
Design or Test experience for component qualification and product applications
Confirmed understanding of test equipment / programming tools required to verify components
Interested to work for project based work that will allow talent to contribute in a period of time
