J.P. Morgan Wealth Management's Solutions Compliance Group seeks an experienced compliance professional to be part of an innovative and talented team supporting Wealth Management's Solutions business. This position requires knowledge and experience in Compliance, as well as familiarity with regulatory and/or audit best practices.
Job Summary
As a Compliance professional, you will need to possess both operational and regulatory knowledge as well as experience in areas related to discretionary investment management programs. You will be expected to strategically partner with the business to ensure that practices, controls, products and services are in compliance with both the letter and spirit of all applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, you will be expected to liaise with Business Management, Legal, Risk, and Controls Management teams to provide ongoing compliance advice on regulatory matters and compliance risk for both existing and the development of new products and services. Identifying compliance-related risks and measuring the sufficiency of controls while providing advice on a routine basis to the line of business are also expectations of the role.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, lead, and execute the annual monitoring plan, identify potential gaps, and follow through on reporting, escalation, and resolution.
Conduct ongoing compliance monitoring activities and participate in special projects as required
Work with the technology team to develop and/or expand automation of monitoring activities and document the requirements in Business Requirements Documents.
Proactively evaluate investment management controls and execute on opportunities for enhancement within JPM Wealth Management Solutions.
Keep abreast of industry trends and anticipate areas of focus and attention of regulators.
Effectively partnering with business partners, legal, risk and operational partners to understand operational and regulatory risks in a complex environment.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Compliance officer with a minimum 7 years of investment advisory compliance/legal/risk experience
Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidance for investment advisers with a focus on OCC and SEC regulations
Pro-active, motivated and enthusiastic
Possess strong written and oral executive-level communications skills
Detail-oriented; possess a high-level of attention to detail and quality for their work product
Excellent analytical skills
Experience using the MS Suite of products
Ability to work both independently and as a core team member
