Senior Executive Office Communications Leader
Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Executive Office Communications Leader to provide strategic communications counsel and support for the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in Irving, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional who wants to be challenged while being directly involved with the business, communicating to employees, key stakeholders, investors and the Caterpillar Board of Directors on Caterpillar’s broad portfolio, leading technology, and services advancements. The position reports to the VP of Enterprise Communications and will work extensively with the COO as a key member of the COO’s leadership team. The position also engages with other executives and worldwide segment teams.
What You Will Do:
Develop and implement a communications strategy for the COO organization
Develop consistent and cohesive messaging for the COO and the organization to support strategic business priorities
Manage a variety of internal and external events and communications materials
Manage a team of communicators who support key leaders across Caterpillar, as well as external vendors
Partner with the business to support, guide and advise on all aspects of communication formats and messages to ensure clarity, accuracy and net perception

Organizational Communications: Advises others on a wide spectrum of communications programs.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Demonstrates an expectation that there will be ongoing shifts in demands and priorities.
Additional Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, Advertising, English, Public Relations, or related field
A blend of communications (both in-house and/or agency) or journalism experience.
Additional Details:
Location: Irving, TX
15-25% travel is expected
