Job Summary
This role serves as connector, innovator, advocate, and strategist. Working within a team setting, this role supports and leads the execution of critical aspects of collaborative projects and partnerships to improve community conditions and health-related social needs (social determinants of health and safety). This role supports Corewell Health and Healthier Communities’ health equity goals and strategic priorities in Grand Rapids and Kent County.
The ideal candidate is gifted at developing and maintaining an extensive network of internal and external partners, tracking community trends through qualitative and quantitative means, planning for and continuously improving programs and initiatives to meet aspirational goals, and acting as a community advocate within cross-sector and multidisciplinary settings. They have a deep knowledge of community needs and multi-layered strategies to address health-related social needs and their associated inequities within disinvested communities.
A high level of collaboration, innovative thinking, and attention to detail will ensure the success of this person in supporting the scaling and growth of various initiatives within Healthier Communities’ community collaboration and investment portfolio.
Given the nature of the role, location in the Greater Grand Rapids area and regular in-person engagement is required.
Organization Summary
This person reports directly to the Manager, Community Collaboration and Advocacy.
Project-specific functions
This role supports projects, initiatives, and partnerships in Healthier Communities’ growing community collaboration portfolio. Exact initiatives are subject to change based on evolving department priorities, community needs, and available funding. Active projects currently include Grand Rapids Justice Governance Partnership, grant making, grant seeking, and Community Based Participatory Research.
