JOB SUMMARY:
Assistant Project Manager oversees the daily operations in a Grocery establishment that sells everyday items under the direction of the Project Manager (PM). Functional areas include recruiting and training staff, collaborating with vendors, and ensuring that safety policies are implemented. This positions primary focus is to develop a positive shopping experience to ensure customer satisfaction.

Under the direction of the PM, oversee, schedule, and supervise the activities of the employees, which may involve hands on assistance, to ensure accomplishment of daily duties.Provide on-going training for staff and follow-up support in your work area.Ensure quality assurance standards are in compliance and reports are completed in a timely matter.Monitor man-hours and other contract costs to ensure contract requirements are met within budgeted expenditures.Provide analysis of equipment and advise PM when repairs are needed.Participate in daily communication with personnel to ascertain problems/concerns, reach decisions regarding appropriate solutions, and to maintain a high level of satisfaction in terms of quality service.Provide leadership and guidance to encourage personnel to succeed.Maintain storage areas and equipment, materials, and supplies in a safe and orderly manner to ensure the safety of personnel.Identify and provide training in the safe and productive use and maintenance of equipment, utilization of supplies, and the basic skills needed to meet contract requirements.Make employment recommendations to Management (such as, hiring, promotion, termination, disciplinary, recognition, and appraisals).Maintain a thorough knowledge of performance work statement (contract) and adherence to customer standards.Fill in for Shelf Stockers and Custodial staff as needed.Fill in for Project Manager as needed.Supervisory Responsibility
Provide on-going training for staff and follow-up support in your work area.Observe and identify the need for training to ensure a safe and productive environment.Provide training in the use and maintenance of equipment, utilization of supplies, and the basic skills needed to meet contract requirements.Make employment recommendations to Management (such as, hiring, promotion, termination, disciplinary, recognition, and appraisals).MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma.Prior Management experience.Must be able to pass a background screening for access to the work areas.Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.Must have reliable transportation.Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree in Business or related field.Industry Custodial or comparable experience preferred.Experience working with individuals with disabilities.Forklift Certification.In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
