Commercial Service Safety Leader

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Commercial Service Safety Leader in the Greater Richmond Region. The Service Safety Leader is responsible for assisting the Protection Team to ensure desired safety culture and achieve safety objectives and goals through training, auditing, and coaching in all areas of the service department. This position requires commitment, leadership, dedication, patience, excellent interpersonal communication skills, excellent presentation skills, and knowledge of our industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize company vehicle to travel to service areas and conduct various training, safety inspections, and represent Protection Team at service meetings.
Assist the Protection Team with updating and maintaining the safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Provide reports, recommendations, and feedback to company personnel.
Facilitate & maintain the distribution of PPE in all service areas.
Regularly observe and coach Service Technician's jobsite behaviors.
Facilitate various safety training.
Investigate accidents and participate in accident reviews.
Perform drug screens for random, pre-employment, post-accident, and cause.
Working Conditions:
Over 50% of responsibilities will demand traveling to service territories throughout Eastern Virginia (including Northern VA) and Eastern North Carolina. When not at jobsites, remaining time will be spent in the office with other protection teammates discussing culture engagement, best in class ideas, educating themselves on compliance standards, and assisting with training both indoors and outdoors.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and OSHA 30-Hour Certificate are a plus.
Must have a thorough knowledge of OSHA and best practices.
Proven experience in implementing safety programs in the commercial construction or related industry.
Familiarity with safety regulations governing HVAC/R, electrical, and plumbing services.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, work at heights, walk on all types of terrain, and be exposed to all types of weather conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 85 pounds.
Must possess a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
Must pass a drug screen and background check.
