Key JobResponsibilities Directs and helps set up and operates a CNC controlledboring, milling and drilling machine; performing all machiningoperations possible on this machine tool. Receives work assignment;secures drawings, program & work instructions; determines tools,fixtures, & machining requirements such as speeds, feeds, & dimensions;determines sequence of operations when required; keeps cutting tools inproper working condition. Presets tools, loads them in tool changer.Helps hitch & with aid of OHC, positions work piece on floor plate.Directs helper and assists setting up work piece; makes closemeasurements and uses appropriate shims, fixtures, parallels, jacks,clamps, etc. to locate piece to predetermined points from end, top &side of the floor plate as directed by the work instructions and/orTechnical support. Downloads program into control and performs allmachining operations. Manually deburrs and inspects work pieces to printtolerances using, machine probe, manual inspection tools and gauges.Selects proper cutting tools and attachments as needed and secures tobar or spindle; sets speeds and feeds or may feed tool manually intocut; adjusts coolant; observes operation closely; checks dimensions andmakes adjustments as needed. Directs helper to gather all tooling andfixtures required in advance of next operation. Verifies and documentsmachined part per the print. Then removes piece from table and cleanstable of all chips and coolant as required. Applies rust preventative tomachined surfaces. Maintains tooling and set up equipment. Performs veryclose tolerance machining operations such as milling, boring, drilling,reaming, tapping, facing, and keyway milling on parts. Notifies TeamLead or Technical Services and/or Production Supervisor for any processimprovements. Dresses, grinds, or sharpens own tools as needed;lubricates machine and assists with...
