Description

Busy law firm in the east metro is looking to add an associate to their team! This role offers the opportunity to work closely with seasoned attorneys in a supportive environment, with exposure to a diverse range of civil cases in areas like professional liability medical malpractice defense.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the civil litigation process (at least 1-2+ years), including case management, client interaction, and document drafting. Hybrid flexibility after 3-6 months in office.

Responsibilities:

Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, discovery responses, and other litigation-related documents.

Conduct legal research to support case strategy and filings.

Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences.

Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.

Manage and organize case files, ensuring deadlines are met and compliance with court rules and procedures.

Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal matters and case strategies.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Active member in good standing with the MN Bar.

Minimum of 1-2+ years of experience in civil litigation.

Strong understanding of the civil litigation process, including drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery.

Excellent legal research and writing skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
