Job Description
SUMMARY
To provide CMM inspection and metrology support to production and support areas to ensure conformance to the customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. Assigned duties may change due to business changes and production needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
The ability to use the various other gauges and handheld measuring instruments is also required
Able to program CMM’s using the Calypso / PC-DMIS Software for complex parts with advanced GD&T call outs.
Support Calibration by measuring gauges.
Support APQP and PPAP activities (supplier and internal).
Support assembly areas with measurement data for problem-solving.
Able to program and using a variety of measuring equipment for complex parts.
Able to generate layout reports that clearly show the status of parts measured.
Preparing the test sequence, including preparation of equipment.
Troubleshooting of problems.
Performing servicing and maintenance of measuring equipment when applicable.
Verify the conformity of submitted supplier or internal PPAP’s per SQE’s or QE’s recommendations.
Complete and submit proper paperwork on time for each layout, clearly identifying non-conformances.
Travel when necessary to further education on CMM & supporting software.
Other Responsibilities :
Perform product audits on time per the audit schedule.
Ensure the quality labs are kept organized, clean, and all production material is identified.
Support the manufacturing floor (operators) in quality issues.
Report any concerns, mostly if non-conforming material may be shipped to the customer, to a supervisor or Quality Manager.
Write technical reports and documentation.
Other tasks may be assigned as needed to support production/company needs.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Three to five years of related experience and or training. Experience should be gained in technical operations and should include a minimum of two years in Quality for experienced candidates. One to five years of experience in manufacturing/assembly operations for entry-level candidates.
