Cloud Security Architect

　　A healthcare client is looking to bring on a remote, contract-to-hire Cloud Security Architect to help build out their security infrastructure and strengthen their security posture for their new line of business going live at the start of 2025. This person will report into the VP/CISO and act as his "right-hand" while they work on building out a security program that will be the foundation for the next 10 years to come. This client works in the space of providing active military members and veterans healthcare. This new program is expected to bring in an estimated 10 million new members so establishing a good security foundation is essential.

　　The role will involve a multitude of responsibilities that require working with teams across the org and utilization of architecture, security frameworks, implementation, and engineering experience. They are living in an Azure environment and work with things like Sentinel, Azure information protection, Defender, and other Azure security tools. They are looking for someone who has "been there, done that" in an Azure environment from scratch. You will be going in and assessing current states before moving to the design and implementation of security solutions in Azure-based programs. There are some pre-defined architecture frameworks/risk appropriate controls and its imperative that these security solutions are aligning with government standards.

　　Some of the more granular things they will be working on is implementing things like IAM, network security, data protection, DevSecOps, and compliance within their security program. They are also looking to institute the NIST framework in tandem with the implementation of FISMA controls and FIPS.

　　This position was the first and most pivotal position the CISO identified to get this initiative off the ground which may make for a fast-paced/hands-on start as the road map is formed and architecture gets designed. The team will be bringing on a manager of IAM and GRC as well as engineers under them throughout this year. As the architect, you will likely be involved in the hiring process and have a high impact on the security organization.

　　Contract Duration: 6 Months contract-to-hire

　　Required Skills & Experience

　　· Experience designing, implementing or supporting security technologies and solutions

　　· Experience building a security program in an Azure environment

　　· Certification like: CISSP, CCSP, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect or Security Engineer

　　· Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, encryption, authentication, authorization, and audit capabilities

　　· Strong understanding of threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits in cloud environments

　　· Experience implementing controls to mitigate threats

　　Desired Skills & Experience

　　· A bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security

　　· Experience designing and implementing security solutions like IAM, network security, data protection, DevSecOps and compliance

　　· Experience with FISMA Moderate/High controls
