POSITION SUMMARY:

　　Assist with patient direct health care needs in clinic setting. This will include assisting with rooming patients, obtaining vitals, documenting patient information, turning over the rooms and other duties as assigned by the nurse. Duties may include assisting with patient follow up phone calls, letters, or other administrative duties specific to patient care. Role is under the direction of the Clinic Manager.

　　QUALIFICATIONS:

　　High school graduate or equivalent.

　　Previous nurse assistant experience.

　　Certified Nursing Assistant.

　　CNA must be willing to complete CMA program within a year.

　　Knowledge and relevant experience in a medical office setting.

　　BLS certification.

　　DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

　　Perform routine pre-examination procedures including taking vital signs, assessing and recording objective and subjective data concerning presenting condition.

　　Assist physician / APP with examinations and procedures.

　　Prepare and clean the patient area: set up equipment, clean and facilitate room set up after a procedure.

　　Perform patient care measures as requested by provider.

　　Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and co-workers.

　　Maintain and ensure confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI).

　　Maintain a system for accurately recording and reporting patient conditions in the Electronic Medical Record.

　　Follow providers directive regarding communication to patients (i.e. test results, medication changes, etc.).

　　Follow all SMH RHC (Rural Health Clinic) policies and procedures.

　　Attend required meetings/trainings and participate in committees as required.

　　Demonstrate appropriateness in meeting objectives in age-specifics.

　　Perform other duties as assigned.
