SUMMARY
Coordinates clinical patient care services and personnel within Speech Pathology and Audiology services.
Scope Impacts patient care through the delivery of Speech Pathology and Audiology services.
Essential Job Functions
· Coordinates Speech Pathology and Audiology clinical staff coverage, schedules and work assignments.
· Participates in the candidate selection and orientation process and conducts performance evaluations.
· Coordinates and oversees patient care activities and participates in designing and implementing process improvement initiatives to improve services.
· Monitors and implements new diagnostic and therapeutic tools to enhance patient care and assists in creating or modifying clinical templates.
· Acts as a lead resource and provides comprehensive evaluation of patients.
· Conducts weekly modified barium swallow studies.
· Plans and participates in educational training for hospital staff, allied health professionals, patients and family members.
Other duties as assigned.
Education
Required : Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
Experience
Required : Four years of clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathology to include one year in a lead/coordinator role
Licenses
Required: All of the following: Certification in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). License in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
