Description The School of Health Professions at Stony Brook University invites applicants to apply for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track (Clinical Assistant Professor) faculty position in the Department of Physician Assistant Education. This program is delivered on both the Stony Brook University East Campus, Health Sciences Center and on the Southampton Campus. The faculty will report to the Chairperson of the department of Physician Assistant Education and will have responsibilities in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Service responsibilities include advising students; mentoring student research projects; overseeing students while on clinical rotation; providing service to the program, school, university, community and profession; and assisting the Chairperson with accreditation efforts, alumni engagement, external giving outreach and other assignments which contribute to program growth that supports diversity and inclusion.
Stony Brook University is located on Long Island and is part of the State University of New York system. The School of Health Professions' Department of Physician Education offers a MS degree that is accredited by Commission on Accreditation for the Physician Assistant ARC-PA. The department provides a dynamic learning experience through interdisciplinary and professional collaborative research, relationships with strong community programs, and opportunities to develop scholarly activities both within the department and the healthcare community. The Program is one of six professional programs in the School of Health Professions and offers the program at both the Stony Brook University East Campus, Health Sciences Center and at the Stony Brook Southampton location.
