JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Overview The Clinical Assistant/AssociateProfessor will provide instruction and will serve as a mentor to pre-docstudents assigned to a range of dental clinic areas. In addition, theClinical Assistant/Associate Professor is responsible for the managementof all patient care delivered by students. This is a five day per weekposition. Marquette University School of Dentistry is well known for itsinnovative curriculum, and for serving the community on its main campusin Milwaukee and in outreach clinics across the State of Wisconsin.Duties and Responsibilities 1) The Clinical Assistant/AssociateProfessor is a member of the Department of General Dental Sciences. Assuch, the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor will provideappropriate student supervision, training, and will support the goals ofthat department. The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor is expectedto become familiar with and adopt the preventive and restorativephilosophies set by the department in the areas of operative dentistryand prosthodontics. 2) The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor willassist the Comprehensive Patient Management Group (CPMG) Leader toensure that clinical procedures for all disciplines are performed asspecified in the Clinic Policy Manual and in accordance with thepolicies of the appropriate program. 3) The Clinical Assistant/AssociateProfessor will provide some direct patient care. This would includecases where students either have been unable to arrive at an acceptableclinical result, or to expedite emergency treatment. 4) The ClinicalAssistant /Associate Professor will provide guidance, monitoring, anddirect clinical supervision to pre-doc students and will promotecomprehensive patient care, serving as a clinical mentor and a dentistrole model. They are responsible for implementing and following allclinical policies. This individual is expected to model the highestdegree of professionalism in oral health care. This position reports tothe Chair of the Department of General Dental Sciences. 5) The ClinicalAssistant Professor is expected to participate in calibration programsand provide student clinical assessment based upon such calibration.
