　　The Charge Nurse provides functional direction to members of the careteam to achieve optimal patient outcomes while optimizing availableresources, including delivery of evidenced base care, staffing, and carecoordination.

　　QUALIFICATIONS

　　Professional/Educational

　　Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurselicense. BSN Preferred.

　　Previous experience in aRegistered Nurse Role.

　　Certified by the American Heart Association in Cardiopulmonaryresuscitation (CPR).

　　Maintains required competencies/inservices and attends departmentmeetings.

　　Delegation, excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.

　　Certified by the American Heart Association in ACLS, preferred.

　　Basic computer skills.

　　DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.

　　Personal

　　Maintains good physical and emotional well being.

　　Possesses the ability to work under tension.

　　Role models the Standards of Conduct.

　　Evidence of knowledge and ability to use proper channels ofcommunication.

　　Willingness to be flexible and adaptable.

　　Understands acuity and staffing in their area and adjacent areas.
