Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Clerical Assistant for the School of Nursing.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Holds an essential secretarial position within the division to support the divisional deans and day-to-day operations.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System.   Qualifications

  

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school/vocational school education or equivalent, plus one of the following:
    • a) Five years secretarial experience, one of which includes experience at executive secretarial level;
    • b) Two years college level study plus three years of any equivalent combination of: secretarial experience, advanced secretarial training, or clerical training, provided executive secretarial experience accounts for one year of any such combination;
    • c) An equivalent combination of secretarial experience and up to two years advanced secretarial training.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of academics, program design and execution, coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, and writing.
  • Two (2) years of professional-level experience that includes writing reports and coordination of work and projects.
  • Knowledge of higher education, preferably nursing or a health-related field a plus.
  • Familiarity with Rutgers University Programs such as Banner, Marketplace, Cornerstone, and Canvas preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires demonstrated data entry/word-processing/typing skills and working knowledge and the ability to use basic spreadsheet, word-processing, database software, and/or email.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must have effective client service skills.
  • May require shorthand, stenographic, and/or machine transcription skills.
  • May require the ability to group lead.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Literacy required.
