  About Us:

  The Department of Human Centered Design at Cornell University, established in 2021, combines the strengths of Fiber Science & Apparel Design and Design & Environmental Analysis to create a leading department in the field of Design. Our department is committed to fostering innovation, creativity, and excellence in the design of products, environments, and experiences. We house the , a pioneering research hub focused on the intersection of clothing design, fit, and digital technology's role in shaping the future of fashion. Our lab collaborates with academic departments, industry partners, entrepreneurs, and artists on projects related to body-garment relations.

  Position Summary:

  The Digital Fashion & Body Lab at Cornell University is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual for the position of Lab Coordinator. This role is crucial to support the lab's research initiatives, administrative functions, and project coordination. The successful candidate will have prior experience in research support, administrative support, and project coordination.

  Responsibilities:

  Assist in 3D body scan data analysis, including data cleaning, patching, and analysis.Coordinate data collection efforts and manage databases.Support Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and human subject research processes.Monitor media releases, maintain the lab's website, and contribute to outreach activities.Supervise student workers.

  Required Qualifications:

  A demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.Exposure to 3D software programs.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Proficiency in database management.Ability to work independently and proactively, with excellent follow-through.Strong problem-solving and project management abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Must be present in Ithaca during employment (on-site position).Ability to cultivate inclusive and equitable working relationships.Associate degree and a minimum of 2 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Experience with Rhino (and Grasshopper), or similar software.Understanding of and/or exposure to human subject research and the Cornell IRB process.Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.Statistical analysis skills.Familiarity with GR/AR is a plus.
