The Department of Corrections, Parole Field Services, Allentown District Office is seeking, someone with a strong interest in clerical work to provide administrative support.

  Senate Bill 411 merged the Department of Corrections and the Board of Probation and Parole. This position is within the Department of Corrections.

  DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Clerical Assistant 2, you will provide clerical and office support to ensure operations are conducted effectively and efficiently. In this role, you will serve as a receptionist by answering the phone and relaying calls, greeting and assisting visitors, utilizing various computer systems to input and manage data, maintaining a filing system, and processing incoming mail.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per weekWork hours are 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM, Monday - Friday, with 45-minute lunch.This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.   Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); orGraduation from high school; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Additional Requirements:You must have 3 or more years of experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.You must have 2 or more years of experience answering and assisting with incoming telephone calls.You must have 2 or more years of experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying, machine, facsimile machine, and postage meter.You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:
