Summary This position is located at the 149th MAI SQ, Kelly AFB, San Antonio, TX. The purpose of this position is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders in accomplishing the work of the Propulsion Element and to perform associated non-supervisory work. Responsibilities As a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32) with the Texas Air National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to: Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Instructs subordinates on new procedures or methods and provides assistance on difficult or new problem areas. Reviews work in progress or on completion. Makes adjustments as necessary to effectively and economically accomplish the work. Notes and investigates work related problems and independently implements corrective actions which can be taken without affecting work operations controlled by other supervisors. Assures that equipment and materiel is available when needed. Coordinates work with other work units. Performs other duties as assigned. Military Requirements: AFSC: 2A (7 or 9 level) Military Grades: Promotable E-7/MSgt - E-8/SMSgt) Qualifications To be considered for qualification, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting the following: Specialized Experience Required: To qualify at the WS-10 grade level your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment reflecting at least 36 months experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft or aircraft engines, assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft or aircraft engines and components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis. In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Education There is not an educational requirement for this position.
