Job Description:
Summary:The person in this position will work on multidisciplinary project teamsserving mining, fuels, power, and public sector clients. This personmust be experienced in civil engineering design and analysis related to sitelayout, grading and drainage, mass earthwork, etc. Work will involvetechnical assignments such as design with CADD modeling software,construction plans and specification preparation, spreadsheet preparation,site development design, report writing, large-report preparation,construction cost estimating, construction observation, and facilityinspection. Assignments may also include working directly with clients,permitting agencies, and public officials.
Administrative responsibilities may involve business development, projectmanagement, project planning, and scheduling. This person will also havethe opportunity to serve as a mentor to junior-level engineers to grow theircivil engineering expertise and project management skills by reviewingtechnical reports and providing guidance on operations-related tasks. The workmay require travel for out-of-town assignments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Five years of experience including civil design
Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D or other CADD-based civil designsoftware
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year
Flexible working style, self-initiative, self-motivation, and awillingness to work with teams to meet clients' needs and project schedules
Conscientiousness concerning the accuracy, appropriateness, and timelinessof results
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need forsponsorship
Acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
Seven or more years of related work experience
Familiarity with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software
A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid workarrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a homeoffice. This position can be based out of Barr's Denver, Colorado, office.
NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of constructionsites and may also require entering and working in facilities that includelimited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical ofindustrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work on waste disposalsites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. An OSHA-mandatedphysical exam may be required. Safety training will be provided. Applicantsmay be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request ofspecific clients.
Colorado Applicants Only:Compensation:The anticipated base salary range for this position is$73,000-$85,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience,education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in thisposition may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
