SecDevOps Engineer
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SecDevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a SecDevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating security practices into the software development and operations lifecycle. Your primary goal will be to ensure the security, availability, and reliability of our systems and applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain secure infrastructure and automate security controls. This role requires a strong understanding of both security and DevOps principles, as well as proficiency in modern tools and technologies.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement security controls and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including code analysis, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security practices into the CI/CD pipeline and automate security checks.
Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
Monitor and analyze system logs and security events to detect and respond to security incidents.
Implement and maintain secure infrastructure, including network configurations, firewalls, and access controls.
Stay up to date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, and ensure the organization's security practices align with them.
Develop and maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, and standards.
Provide guidance and support to development and operations teams on secure coding practices, security requirements, and secure configuration management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, analysis, and remediation of security incidents.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, GSEC) are a plus.
Proven experience in a SecDevOps or similar role, with a strong understanding of both security and DevOps principles.
Deep knowledge of secure coding practices, vulnerability management, and secure infrastructure design.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Experience with CI/CD tools and platforms (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps) and their integration with security controls.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their security features.
Strong understanding of network and system security principles, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and securing containerized environments.
Knowledge of security compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and experience in implementing security controls to meet compliance requirements.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex systems and identify security risks.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
