Job Summary:
We require a Data Researcher with broad aviation knowledge especially with aircraft recognition and fleet dynamics. An enthusiasm and passion for Aircraft, their operations and identifying aircraft and the changes to their use or activity is a key asset to have. The successful candidate will have a keen attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively as well as in isolation to achieve a range of data tasks. These will range from document processing, ETL, quality checks, connecting disparate data points to one another and combining the data we receive with our existing datasets, to provide the best in class data for our clients. Research and the ability to piece together evidence and data, starting from an incomplete picture is the main day to day task, allowing the successful candidate to react to the real world transactions we track, as well as building their knowledge of the aircraft they maintain to near encyclopedic levels in time.
The successful candidate will work day to day in a small team researching and curating event histories of individual aircraft, tracking their identities, operation and usage amongst many other data points.
Key responsibilities
Maintaining accurate and timely data entry using Content Management Systems
Developing deep/deeper subject matter expertise across datasets or sectors of the aviation industry
Developing strong and consistent relationships with your team and the wider Data Research organisation
Active source management with new and existing data suppliers
Data quality analysis and remediation activity
Desktop and telephone research for aircraft and company profile information
Identifying new data sources and establishing data supply relationships through support functions in the wider organisation
Work with operations support functions on initiatives to improve workflow efficiencies
Consistent collaboration with product, data management and technology teams as required
Review and respond to related issues/queries from the business and external clients/data suppliers
Qualifications:
College Graduate
Has 2-3 years experience of customer-facing, data analytics, data science, or research roles.
Having good understanding of data protection and governance legislation/ requirements is an advantage.
Knowledge in data analysis software tools/techniques is an advantage
Has good understanding of the aviation sectors and/or wider aviation industry
Has experience in a fast-paced data environment
Capable of handling/processing large volume of data accurately and quickly
Proven data research experience with good understanding of MS Excel
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
Has good attention to detail
