They provide nostalgia, Christmas Cheer, and a source of revenue that allows it to do ministry throughout the year.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMonitors the kettle at an assigned location; ensures that the kettle is never left unattended; ensures the security and accountability of kettle fundsGreets the public in a courteous and friendly manner; expresses appreciation to donorsRepresents the Army in a way that upholds its mission and purposeMaintain good hygiene, clean appearance, and appropriate dress at all timesDoes work at assigned store locations, regardless of changes in the weatherBring the spirit of the Christmas by making eye contact, smiling, greeting, and wishing the public a Merry Christmas, God Bless You, Happy Holidays, or other appropriate greetingsDirect any public mission questions to the Vancouver Corps Office, (360) 892-9050Relieve the previous bell ringer in a timely and prompt manner (don't make coworkers wait)Follow known policies and directives set out by the Army and host businessNotify the Kettle Coordinator 24 hours before missing a shiftOther duties as assignedQualificationsClear a background checkFollow instructions and work with limited supervisionProvide supervision and coach others to perform their job effectivelyCapable of communicating with others in a courteous and respectful wayKnow how to follow oral and written instructionsAble to use a mobile phone effectivelyFollow and enforce rulesBe 18 years of age or olderPhysical RequirementsGenerally good health conditionGood sight, hearing, and use of large motor skillsAble to work in a wide variety of weather conditions.Be capable of lifting 5-10 poundsQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the job with or withoutaccommodation.
