　　Job Overview

　　The Child Life (CL) Specialist works in health care and community settingsto address the psychosocial, emotional and family concerns that accompanythe illness and injury of children, adolescents and young adults. The CLSpecialist utilizes developmentally appropriate information, proceduresupport, emotional processing, play, self-expression and empowerment toimprove the coping and adjustment of patients and families. The CL Specialistcollaborates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to advocatefor/ensure that developmentally appropriate, emotionally safe,family-centered care is being provided to patients and families. Inaddition, the CL Specialist takes an active role in developing andmaintaining resources, planning and facilitating special events andproviding educational opportunities throughout Children's Hospital Colorado(CHThe Child Life team in Colorado Springs is an exceptional group of tenuredCCLS who are looking to expand the team and scope of coverage. We are lookingfor child life specialists who desire a great team culture, are willing todevelop programming, and want to grow their skills.The team is looking for new grads and those with experience to contribute tothe growth in Colorado Springs. We care for children with a variety ofmedical conditions, are a level 2 trauma center and provide outstandingemotional care to the whole family unit.
