Summary You will serve as a CHEMIST in the NAVSUP FLCSI of NAVSUP FLC SIG GF. Responsibilities You will conduct fuel testing operations, identify deficiencies in fuel and recommend the usability and disposition of petroleum, oil and lubricants You will investigate and analyze the composition, molecular structure, and chemical reactions of substances You will compile written reports to provide status updates on chemical analysis of samples or testing results You will articulate technical reports, experimental work accomplished, and analytical results to varied audiences You will review analytical chemistry test results on a sampling basis to insure tests meet industry and governmental standards Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting chemical testing of petroleum, oil and lubricant products; 2) Preparing analytical results of laboratory findings, methods and techniques used, data obtained and recommendations and conclusions reached; 3) Calibrating and maintaining instrumentation and equipment used in chemical analysis; 4) Responding to inquiries on the correct procedures for issuing, handling, storage and disposal of petroleum, oil and lubricant products.
