Duties and Responsibilities:
FINANCIAL RETURNS
Is responsible for constantly maintaining a high standard of food preparation by checking it for taste, temperature, and visual appeal.
Checks maintenance of all equipment located in the area he/she supervises and makes any attempt to prevent the damage or loss of hotel property.
Controls wastage and spoilage by keeping it at a minimum and being aware and control of the food cost.
Prepares requisitions of food in advance to ensure constant operation and get approval from the Executive Chef / Sous Chef
PEOPLE
Assigns specific duties to the subordinates instructs and trains them in their work.
Follows detailed instructions given to him by the Executive Chef / Sous Chef at all times and briefs colleagues daily according to necessary information.
Works closely together with the stewards and ensures a constantly clean and tidy Kitchen area and refrigerators.
GUEST EXPERIENCE
Make suggestions to the Executive Chef or Sous Chef concerning improvement which would lead to more satisfied customers and/or increased volume of business or profit.
Makes sure that his set up and mise en place are always ready so that he/she may give quick, efficient, and quality service.
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
Reports punctually in correct uniform and standard of grooming and is aware of all house rules and procedures, he obeys and enforces them.
Prepares requisitions of food in advance to ensure constant operation and get approval from the Executive Chef / Sous Chef.
He makes sure that all refrigerators are clean and tidy and checks the stored food items on freshness to prevent the use of spoiled or contaminated products in any phase of food preparation.
Is responsible, for HACCP, EHS, and Incident reporting of given areas
Qualifications and Requirments:
Culinary degree with experience equivalent in Hospitality Industry
Knowledgeable in HACCP.
good communication skills in the English language
Minimum experience of two years as a Demi chef
