Description
We are seeking a CFO to join our client based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role involves strategic financial planning and management, with a focus on budgeting, auditing, accounting, and tax activities. The CFO will play a key role in the financial performance assessment of our organization and will be actively involved in the strategic planning process.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the budgeting, auditing, tax, accounting, and insurance activities of the organization.
• Evaluate and assess the financial performance of the organization in relation to set goals, budgets, and forecasts.
• Participate actively in the strategic planning process, contributing to the development of annual financial objectives aligned with the organization's growth plans.
• Collaborate with the President and other key stakeholders in engaging auditors, investors, bankers, and consultants.
• Recruit, manage, and coach staff within the reporting departments, ensuring effective team performance.
• Prepare and present quarterly financial reports, including forecast vs. budget and cash flow analysis.
• Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide strategic recommendations.
• Develop and maintain monthly and annual operating budgets.
• Oversee and ensure the application of appropriate internal controls, compliance, and financial procedures.
• Oversee the preparation and communication of financial statements.
• Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and controls.
• Oversee the Facilities Department, including the identification and assessment of campus-wide capital renewal and deferred maintenance needs.
• Provide leadership and management of Human Resources, Technology Services, and other administrative functions.
• Negotiate and manage college contracts.
Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior financial managerial position
• Possess expertise in Accounting Software Systems
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Accounting Functions
• Proven experience in Auditing
• Proficiency in Budget Processes is required
• Must have experience in Capital Management
• Skilled in Cash Flow Analysis
• Expertise in Non-profit Accounting is a must
• Experience in Grant Accounting and Grant Management is required
• Strong Departmental Management skills and experience
• A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is required
• Should possess excellent communication and leadership skills
• Demonstrable strategic planning and business development skills
• Proficiency in financial reporting laws and regulations
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a financial team.
