JOB SUMMARY
The Certified Nursing Assistant for the Orthopedic unit is an essential member of the patient care team who contributes to the well-being and comfort of patients during their stay by providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of the registered nurse. The CNA will be responsible for assisting with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, oral care, hair care, shaving, and other activities of daily living. They will aid the RN in performing vitals, providing post-op care, ambulation, mobility, and positioning. As part of an interdisciplinary team, they will actively participate in establishing plans of care.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Graduate of Maine State Board-approved CNA course
Valid State of Maine CNA certification
BLS certification required
EXPERIENCE
No previous experience is required, willing to train the right candidate
OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required
Ability to function in high-stress situations
Flexibility is required to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days per week. May be asked to float to other departments
