　　Job Summary:

　　The HSE Ceramics Matrix Composite (CMC) Team is looking for an M4 Structures Manager to support the CMC Design, Methods, and Structures Team. This is a technical supervisor position where the selected candidate will supervise 2-3 Structures Engineers, potentially including outsourcing support. The selected candidate will report to the CMC Structures and Methods Manager with whom the candidate will coordinate the staffing and execution of CMC sub-element, rig, and component structural modeling and analysis tasks. The Structures Manager will contribute to Leader’s intent definition, staff planning, and prioritization of CMC part structural analysis tasks. They will embrace the Thayer Leadership principles and help foster the daily use of the AGILE principals amongst multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). This role provides an excellent opportunity to supervise engineers while remaining highly technical.

　　Key Responsibilities:

　　Ensuring Structures Engineers are fully engaged in supporting the CIPT and all internal and external Customers.

　　The coaching and development of performance feedback to their direct reports.

　　Providing technical mentorship to both their direct reports and extended Team members.

　　Guiding and coaching their direct reports on the management and communication of risk and the execution of risk-based decision making.

　　Coordinating with the Structures and Methods manager to guide continuous improvement of CMC part structural modeling and analysis workflows, drive testing and selection of CMC part structural analysis tools, identify the need for, and assist in development of Structural Methods.

　　Supporting the execution of the Product Design Review Process including facilitating Structures ESW task tailoring / selection with the IPTs and the HSE Chiefs at task initiation, ensuring the rigorous execution of structural modeling and analysis tasks by their direct reports and reviewing technical work for both completeness and accuracy, helping ensure the timely and proper execution of Structures Discipline Reviews.

　　Manager sets team objectives and guides their employees.

　　Ensure appropriate Outsourcing work is completed, reviewed, and approved, consistent with discipline strength and development.

　　Basic Qualifications:

　　BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

　　8+ years of composite structural analysis experience, or 5+ years with an advanced degree.

　　Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

　　The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

　　Travel Requirements: 10%

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　Minimum of 10 years of gas turbine engine structural analysis experience.

　　Demonstrate skill in leading and managing a technical team.

　　IPT leadership experience.

　　Previous supervisory experience a plus.

　　Proven demonstration of risk-based decision-making, analytical skills, business understanding.

　　Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative.

　　Knowledge of Structures Engineering Knowledge System (EKS).

　　The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
