Job Description
The Procurement Category Manager – Transportation & Warehousing, will champion strategic sourcing activities for logistics across the 30+ North America sites. This position is responsible for the implementation of category sourcing strategies, including day-to-day interaction with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure an uninterrupted supply of quality goods and services at optimum cost. The Manager collaborates and works closely with other functions in the organization to implement Total Cost of Ownership improvement opportunities within the category. This position negotiates pricing and terms with selected key suppliers; this position does not provide tactical planning or purchase order administrative support.
Strategy Implementation (50%) – Supports implementation of overall multi-year procurement strategies and translates the strategies into concrete action plans at the site level.
Relationship Management (10%) - Develops strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
Negotiation (20%) - Manages the negotiation preparation, process and results.
Analysis (20%) – Provides analysis and recommendations for cost savings opportunities.
Skills and Qualifications Required
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
5+ years of relevant experience (logistics, procurement, negotiations and contract management)
Technical level expertise in logistics processes, technology platforms (CzarLite, PC Miler, etc.) and their practical application across all modes (TL, LTL, Parcel, Air, Expedite).
Working knowledge of procurement processes and sourcing strategy development.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
