DescriptionSummaryUnder the supervision of the Human Resource Manager, the Human Resource Generalist will build relationships within the HR department and throughout the operations departments to provide effective communication, administrative and strategic support, as well as guidance through an organized approach to rapidly changing priorities.Key Responsibilities:Recruiting:Recruiting candidates for open hourly positions through multiple sourcesImprove sourcing through research options within the geographical areaCoordinate the Hourly Employment ProcessScreen applications and resumes to assess qualificationsPhone screen applicants who meet minimum qualificationsCoordinate and participate in the interview processPerform pre-employment screening processFollow compensation guidelines and/or consult with the appropriate person to ensure the correct compensation person specific to position, experience and abilitiesGenerate written offers for hourly employeesCorrespond with candidates and applicantsSafety:Responsible for administration of all safety programs and safety committee meetingsReview and communicate safety programsMonitor, schedule, and perform safety training to maintain OSHA complianceCoordinate and review safety hazard surveysCommunicate with operations team to ensure SDS books are maintainedAssist with completing incident reports and accident investigationsMaintain first aid kitsCreate safety incident reporting folders and distribute to operationsCommunicate and enforce incident reporting regulationsComplete incident reporting tracking regularlyAffirmative Action:Complete tracking of EEO informationEnter administrative data for applicants by EEO classification using Applicant Tracking SpreadsheetEmployee On-Boarding:Conduct new hire orientationsEnsure all new hires have supplies and resources necessary to perform their jobs effectivelyComplete all new hire processing and paperwork associated with processingComplete E-Verify process for each employee hiredEmployee Relations:Assist Regional Human Resource Manager and management team with providing a positive employee relations experienceConduct on boarding follow-up reviews for hourly employeesAlong with the Regional Human Resource Manager, formulate expedient solutions to employee concernsVisit employees in an agriculture, mill and food processing environment to assist in understanding employee concerns as well as confirming corrective action and follow-up is completePayroll:Support payroll department with required communications to ensure all payroll information is submitted accurately each pay periodOther responsibilities as assignedQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
