　　Cash Applications Specialist

　　Remote to Start then Hybrid 2 or 3 days on-site

　　Northbrook, IL

　　Daily responsibilities:

　　-Cash apps! The majority of time spent will be in prep for daily cash applications. First part of the day is spent applying cash, and most of the second half of the day is focused on prepping cash for the next day.

　　-Working heavily in Excel and SAP, and going back and forth between the two.

　　-Receive bank reports and ensure applications are done accurately, and quickly.

　　-Invoices range from a couple thousand, to multi-million.

　　-Investigate discrepancies by asking questions of other depts.

　　-Resolve any disputes with internal/external customers. (sales, especially)

　　-Work quickly, but more importantly, ACCURATELY.

　　-Post in general ledger - accounting experience will be nice to have.

　　Major Responsibilities:

　　• Support the company in optimizing our financial transactions and systems by reconciling payments and customer accounts.

　　• Communicate discrepancies to management, identify slow-paying customers, and recommend collection candidates.

　　• Strengthen and grow client relationships by communicating with customers regarding past-due accounts.

　　• Assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for performance improvement.

　　• Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting and comply with national and local financial requirements.

　　• Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation before payment.

　　• Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is current, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.

　　• Perform daily cash management duties, including recording bank deposits, updating and distributing cash receipt logs, and posting cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.

　　• Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email, and mail.

　　• Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to A/R so management can better understand how collection efforts are progressing.

　　• Support other accounting and finance team members, inventory management, and cost accounting.

　　Incumbent Attributes:

　　• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience required.

　　• 1-4 years of CASH APPS experience

　　SAP software

　　• Proficient in Windows-based software, Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, and advanced Excel experience

　　• Detail oriented with strong problem-solving/analytical skills. Ability to proactively identify and develop practical solutions.

　　• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with employees at all levels.

　　• Strong communication skills (written and oral).
