General Role Description

　　The Carpenter is a highly skilled individual with great hand dexterity and akeen eye for detail. The Carpenter is adept in mathematics and takingmeasurements and calculating the size and amount needed to complete the taskassigned in accordance with the specifications. This position strives forcontinuous improvement with Safety and Quality while working in diversesettings to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products. Theindividual will also have a passion for continuous improvement, a strongsense of accountability and an ability to partner with the Project Team tooptimize Safety, Quality, Schedule, and profitability of the company.This position Reports to the Carpenter Foreman/Assistant Superintendent andhas direct supervisory responsibilities of the Carpenter Helper and labor.

　　Operations:Follow and adhere to procedures, practices, and policies of the departmentRead Drawings and sketches to fully grasp the requirementsPerform layout from contract drawingsTake measurements and calculate the size and amount of material neededCut, shape, smooth, and fit lumber, and other material accordingto measurementsBuild window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by usingraw materials or pre-constructed itemsConduct repair work on various structuresInstall drywall on metal or wood framing membersAbility to operate tools, machines, and other equipmentVerify field conditions to current drawing sets and specificationsCut and assemble cabinets, shelves, hardware, base, casing,backing and other items and install them where designatedMaintain a clean jobsite and lead composite cleanup crews fromsubcontractorsComply to local building codes, and health and safety regulationsPerform punch list items that meet a level of acceptance by own clientsBuild scaffold and other construction structuresProvide excellent customer serviceProvide leadership to labor on the project teams to assure that tasks areaccurateComplete warranty call-backs and any claims are pro-actively resolvedHave in possession the necessary tools to perform required tasks

　　Participate in safety meetingsSet the example for the company's safety compliance and proceduresParticipate in Stretch and Bend Program dailyParticipate in the STF as neededAssist in the Quality Assurance / Quality Control Plan to ensure projectsuccess of the core concepts behind the plan: Document Control,Constructability, Submittals, Trade Partner QC, QC Checklists, QCDrawings and Overlays, and Inspections (Internal and External)Assist in maintaining OSHA compliance on jobsiteAssist in weekly jobsite safety meetings, both subcontractor and PalaceRecognize Safety violations and correct immediately
