As the University's largest and most varied academic unit, the College ofArts, Humanities, & Social Science is comprised of artists,learners, performers, scholars, scientists, and teachers, and actsas a central hub where many of the University's disciplines intersect. TheOffice of the Dean for the College of Arts, Humanities, & SocialSciences (CAHSS) is the college's administrative center directlyresponsible for guiding, coordinating, and applying academic,financial, and human resources policies for 22 departments, programs,schools, and centers housed in CAHSS. Nearly all 6,000 undergraduates atthe University take liberal arts courses with us, and about one-third ofthese students declare a first major in a CAHSS program. Most of ourdepartments, programs and schools offer masters or doctoral programs. Position Summary
The Dean's office at the College of Arts, Humanities, and SocialSciences seeks applications for a Career Success Manager to serve all units.The CAHSS career success manager works within the College of Arts,Humanities, & Social Sciences to develop, facilitate, and supportcomprehensive College-wide classroom to career enrichment and readinessopportunities for CAHSS undergraduate and graduate students. Reporting to theAssociate Dean, the manager will work in collaboration with the Dean'sOffice and Advancement to build out and support existing, and cultivate newcampus, alumni, and external relationships that lead to internship andother career preparation opportunities for CAHSS students. The manager willutilize established and promising best practices of career development toadvise and guide CAHSS students toward internship and otherprofessionalization opportunities. This position will manage all aspects ofthe College's career success program, analyze effectiveness,and make decisions on program components.
Essential Functions
Envision and plan a student journey from college to career for CAHSS majorsCultivate, coordinate, and manage internships and relationships withcampus partners, alumni and external relationships that lead to internshipopportunities for CAHSS studentsOrganize and/or participate in outreach activities that may includedeveloping communications and training, planning/promoting events and/orconferences.Facilitates internship placements for CAHSS students, and monitors /supervises non-credit internships in collaboration with Career &Professional Services, departments and cross-campus colleaguesAdvise students on a range of career success matters, including but notlimited to, internship preparation and placement process, internship goalsand outcomes, career plans and professional development, communitystandards, academic program policies, etc., to assist students in makingappropriate choices and decisionMaintains detailed, up-to-date database records about current, past,and potential future internship opportunities; catalogues student placementsand outcomesCollaborates with CAHSS Marketing and Communicaiton to write and sharestudent's stories and produce an annual report on CAHSS internshipsWorks with CAHSS faculty members who manage department-level internshipprograms to create a consistent college-wide internship experience forstudents, developing programming for CAHSS students regarding potentialinternship opportunities, including how to apply for internships, gettingthe most out of an internship, and using an internship to support theircareer trajectoryManages annual evaluation process of internship programs, includingplacement sites and supervisorsDevelops marketing materials and workshops and additional events to promoteinternship opportunities and to communicate their alue, internally tostudents and externally to industry partners.Works in partnership with Career & Professional Services to supportstudents' skills development around applying for and learning frominternship opportunities, as well as using internship experiences to advancetheir career goalsWorks in partnership with Alumni Engagement to support students'career-relevant skills development through connections with CAHSS alumni/aeSupervises student employeesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor's degree in a related area
