Food Service Attendant / Cook Part-Time position
In this heartfelt role, you'll be the warmth behind the meals that nourish over 180 clients, ensuring that pre-cooked food is reheated to the perfect, safe temperatures before serving. But your impact stretches far beyond the kitchen. You'll also guide and teach our volunteers and clients in basic food preparation, sharing the joy of serving together. After meals, you'll lead the way in tidying up the dining room and kitchen, making sure our shared spaces are welcoming and clean for everyone. SUMMARY
This position is responsible for reheating pre-cooked food to proper safety temperatures that will be served to 180+ clients. In addition, this position is responsible for instructing volunteers and clients in minor food preparation, serving meals, and cleaning up the dining room and kitchen after each service.

Clean kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances.
Assigns, instructs, and monitors the work of volunteers
Properly clean kitchen appliances and utensils “as you go”.
Adhere to all New York State sanitary regulations.
Ensure safe food handling processes per above.
Ensure all meals are prepared and served in a presentable manner.
Maintain food temperature logs of served meals.
Clean and organized kitchen and dining area.
Represent the organization to all clients, volunteers, and co-workers in a Christ-like manner that serves as an example of Christian behavior.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School degree or GED minimum. Associates Degree preferred.Other Qualifications:
In the midst of a mature walk with Jesus Christ and able to articulate belief.
instructExperienced in safe food handling processing.
Basic knowledge of proper cooking methods and procedures; and acceptable food storage and cleaning techniques.
Ability to assign, instructs, train, and monitor the work of other kitchen staff.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Payment:
For the vital role of ensuring our meals are safely and lovingly prepared and served to our community, the compensation is $15 to $17 per hour, depending on experience. This rate is a reflection of our appreciation for the dedication and care you bring to the table, literally and metaphorically. It's about valuing your contribution to not just feeding bodies, but also nourishing spirits, teaching skills, and building a stronger, more connected community. In this role, every hour of work is an hour spent making a difference, an hour of service that goes beyond the kitchen to touch lives.
Salary Description
$15- 17 an hour
