The Cannabis Control Board (CCB) is seeking a Director of Compliance &Enforcement to spearhead comprehensive compliance strategies inVermont\'s evolving legal cannabis landscape and to oversee day-to-daycompliance operations for the programs administered by the Board. Therole is crucial to carrying out the mission of the Board to establish anequitable and sustainable cannabis industry that supplies safe,compliant products to Vermont\'s adult-use, medical, and hemp-derivedmarketplace.
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Fostering the guiding principles of the CCB among staff and theregulated community.
Managing enforcement of the CCB\'s regulations to ensure compliance withapplicable laws, administrative rules, and guidance.
Managing all investigations, compliance, and enforcement activities.
Developing and implementing educational trainings for both staff andlicensees.
Coordinating and implementing a schedule of site inspections.
Monitoring complaints, tracking investigations, and recommending andcarrying out appropriate agency actions.
Overseeing and assisting with complex investigations.
Directly supervising a team of compliance staff.
Assisting the Executive Director in responding to inquiries regardingenforcement actions.
Generating reports for the Executive Director that will shape Boardpolicy.
This role emphasizes a proactive and engagement-based approach tocompliance, intertwining enforcement measures with educationalinitiatives to create a culture of understanding and adherence toregulations. The right candidate will blend ethical leadership with askillful management approach to effectively handle a high-volumeregulatory workload in a complex and rapidly evolving industry. Thisposition reports directly to the Executive Director of the CCB.
Environmental Factors
Duties are largely performed in a standard office environment. Sitevisits may be necessary, and travel will be required.
