  Job Description

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  Reporting to the Head of PDM Business Operations, and part of the larger Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing (PDM) organization, the Business Operations Program Lead will work with a team of program management professionals to manage cross-functional non-product projects within PDM. In addition, the Business Operations Program Lead will work with product managers, governance managers, and functional leaders to develop, harmonize and implement project management tools across the PDM organization.

  FOCUS AREAS

  Responsible and accountable for managing cross-functional non-product programs/projects in PDM. Work in partnership with other program management and product management leads to implement standardized project management tools across PDM.

  Responsible for developing project intake process by working with PDM functional leaders. Develop project charters and ensure that project scope is well-defined by working in close collaboration with project teams, functional leaders, and project sponsors.

  Work in partnership with product and governance managers to develop and implement tools and processes for reporting dashboards, KPIs and program risks.

  Responsible for creating a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.

  Responsible for developing a program schedule that effectively allocates resources for project completion.

  Proactively track and manage program/project tasks against timelines and budgets. Identify and manage critical path activities and resources.

  Develops forms and records to document program/project activities.

  Monitor the progress of program/project and make necessary adjustments to ensure its successful completion.

  Assist in ensuring that deliverables are on time and within budget.

  Proactively alert leadership when there are risks or deviations from approved plan

  Function as a facilitator between various teams and resolve conflicts as they arise using collaborative management skills.

  Lead, coach, and mentor project managers at various career levels.

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  BS degree in life sciences or relevant field and 10+ years of relevant work experience OR MS degree in life sciences or relevant field and 8+ years of relevant work experience is required.

  Advanced degree and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

  Experience using various project management tools e.g. MS Project, Smartsheet, Vizio, and advanced Excel capabilities.

  Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively communicate and build relationships with a broad spectrum of audiences at all organizational levels.

  Self-directed and proactive with ability to manage diverse stakeholders, exercise good judgment and respond quickly and effectively to changing timelines, requirements, and environments. Demonstrates exceptional influencing skills without direct authority.

  Possesses excellent oral communication skills. Speaks clearly and persuasively; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates good presentation skills; Proactively participates in meetings.

  The salary range for this position is: $191,335.00 - $247,610.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
