Description We are offering an opportunity for a Business Development Officer to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This key role is in the non-profit industry and involves creating and implementing comprehensive development strategies. The job function includes overseeing the execution of strategic fund development planning, managing donor relationships, and leading fundraising initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute an annual, integrated fundraising plan that includes individual major gifts fundraising strategies, stewardship and engagement

• Strategize and manage sponsorship programs, refining sponsor levels and benefits annually, and ensuring ongoing sponsor engagement

• Launch and manage a legacy giving program

• Set and monitor goals for annual fundraising based on the organization's strategic objectives

• Oversee all fundraising initiatives from inception to completion

• Regularly provide written and verbal reports to senior leadership on the development plan and goal to actual

• Conduct research on prospects and implement cultivation strategies for all funding sources

• Build and manage relationships with individual donors, institutional funders, and potential community partners

• Develop and manage budgets for contributed income

• Serve as a public representative and spokesperson for the organization with current and prospective donors and funders, as well as with community partners and other stakeholders

• Identify and prioritize new funding sources in collaboration with leadership

• Contribute to executive team planning and strategy processes, building infrastructure for departmental growth

• Collaborate with the Marketing Team to create cohesive, relevant communication strategies to meet and exceed organizational goals

• Collaborate with the Programs Team to integrate development initiatives with education and performance programs

• Stay abreast of trends and best practices in the fields of fundraising and nonprofit administration. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

• Proficient in managing budget processes

• Demonstrated skills in business development and capital management

• Experience in cold calling is essential

• Knowledge of fund management and fund operations

• Familiarity with government, foundation, private and federal grants

• Proficient in grant administration and fund administration

• Must have fund-raising experience, including managing fundraising campaigns and formulating fundraising strategies

• Ability to develop and implement fundraising plans

• Must have experience in managing fundraising databases

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
